After a serious kitchen fire left extensive water and smoke damage throughout the house, the reconstruction provided an opportunity to rearrange and transform the living space.  By creating an open floor plan, the previously isolated kitchen and narrow living / dining rooms became one bright, open and inviting space.  Similarly, by relocating the front door, the narrow, hallway-like entryway was transformed into a large and inviting foyer.
